Years of waiting have paid off. Rumors have it that Lucasfilm, now owned by Disney, will be re-releasing the original un-edited cuts of the first
Star Wars trilogy. Comicbook.com has stated that they have two reliable sources that have confirmed that this is a plan currently underway.
The plan is for Disney to be releasing the trilogy, of
Star Wars: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and
Return of the Jedi, all on Blu-Ray, and has been in the works for a while now. The original theatrical cut is something many have fans have wanted for years, but progress has been slowed due to damage to the original negatives of the films.
No confirmed date has been set, but it is presumably going to be shooting for a release around the time
Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18th later this year.
